Can you tell us about your role on Air Partner’s Cargo global team?

In my role at Air Partner, I work on developing, enhancing, and refining our time-critical cargo products. My experience working with clients who have ongoing global shipment needs has been invaluable in our efforts to build a team dedicated to delivering high-quality services while also expanding our client base.

What key industries do you serve?

Our key industries cover aerospace, pharmaceuticals, automotive, technology, oil and gas, manufacturing, fashion, government, and humanitarian relief efforts.

Over the past year, we have experienced growth in the aerospace and automotive markets. This growth has enabled us to meet business continuity demands in those industries, keeping travellers or supply chains moving. With our cargo charter solutions, we help maintain assembly lines with the transport of parts needed for automobile manufacturing.

Why did you choose a career in logistics, and what do you find to be most interesting?

I chose a career in logistics because of the versatility and unique characteristics of each shipment. In the air cargo industry, the opportunity to work with people from all over the world is exciting and allows me to learn about different cultures and customs while also meeting the needs of our clients who must transport cargo with specific requirements, such as special handling, preparation, and urgent deadlines.

Having worked in logistics successfully for 36 years, I’ve found that every day is different and offers constant learning opportunities. No two shipments are alike, much like people. Managing shipments allows me to connect with individuals all over the world, and I find having this high level of trust in our relationships with our customers to be very meaningful. Time-critical products involve a fast-paced and demanding environment, providing a unique adrenaline rush that brings me a great deal of satisfaction.

What is your favourite aircraft for transporting cargo, and why?

My personal favourite cargo aircraft is the C-130 Hercules. I admire it for its remarkable ability to reach unique and remote locations, coupled with impressive payload capabilities. This versatile aircraft is designed to operate from short, unprepared runways, including dirt and ice strips. In emergency situations, it can even land on aircraft carrier decks, although that isn’t standard practice. Its adaptability truly sets it apart in the aviation world.

What is the real strength of Air Partner?

Since I joined Air Partner in May 2024, I have noticed the true strength in diversity and global presence; Air Partner’s brand is recognisable wherever you go.

Tell us about your first charter.

My first charter as a broker involved an aircraft engine. While there were a few minor hiccups, the process went smoothly, which was encouraging for future opportunities.

What is your most memorable/and or challenging time-critical cargo project to date?

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I was a client of Air Partner. Together, we successfully transported hundreds of vaccine shipments to remote parts of the world. This was a demanding project that required constant attention, but the satisfaction of delivering to places that many folks have never heard of was truly incredible.

What improvements or changes have you seen in the Time Critical services since you joined Air Partner?

The addition of Time Critical products to Air Partner has brought a new level of clients and enhanced our global capabilities, further strengthening our position in the marketplace.

What do you enjoy most about working in cargo aircraft charter?

I have arranged a number of charters during my time with Air Partner as well as when I was a client before joining the team. Each time, I feel a strong sense of accomplishment when our clients are satisfied and genuinely grateful for the effort our team puts in to complete a successful operation. That’s the most rewarding part of the job for me.

When do you recommend that clients use our Time Critical versus Cargo Charter services?

Time-critical products, such as NFO, OBC, or direct drive shipments, refer to cargo that is typically too small for charter transport or requires the secure accompaniment of an experienced individual to ensure safe delivery to its final destination.

During your time spent working in aviation, what changes have you seen within Air Partner?

In my short time here at Air Partner, I have seen a great deal of recognition and a strong willingness to learn about the transformations occurring within the Cargo team.

What is your philosophy for delivering exceptional service to your customers? And as a department leader, how do you pass this on?

My philosophy is based on transparency and communication. Both traits are essential for building strong relationships with clients and delivering exceptional service. I teach my team to be upfront and to communicate details and milestones frequently.

What specific advice do you have for companies looking to charter cargo aircraft?

Companies looking to charter aircraft should be prepared to provide detailed information regarding their charter needs and should have a budget in mind.

What advice would you give to anyone looking to charter cargo aircraft or use time-critical cargo services for the first time?

My primary advice would be to engage a knowledgeable broker. A skilled broker serves as your best advocate, providing valuable insights into the process and guiding you through the necessary steps. This collaboration is essential to ensure a smooth and positive experience throughout the chartering process.
