In this interview, we sit down with Sara Cappelletti, a Group Charter sales expert with 10 years of experience at Air Partner, to discuss her perspective on managing complex charter operations, building strong client relationships, and delivering effortless group travel solutions.
Tell us about your role at Air Partner.
In my Charter Sales role, I’m responsible for identifying the most suitable air travel solution for a wide range of charter needs. I manage every aspect of the client’s requirements, ensuring I always provide the best possible option inresponse to their requests. This process extends before, during, and after the flight, guaranteeing a fully personalised and end-to-end service.
Whenever I talk about my job, people often associate it with glamour or something out of reach. In reality, what truly defines this role is customer care and the ability to manage a wide array of daily challenges.
What are the key sectors you work with?
We operate across various sectors to meet a broad range of needs. We support sports teams with tailored charter flights, arrange travel for event participants and VIPs, and provide air transport solutions for travel agencies and tour operators. We also serve private clients with exclusive and customised flight experiences. Our ability to adapt across different sectors allows us to deliver highly specialised and high-quality service.
What led you to work in the aviation industry?
It all started almost by chance, through a university internship, and from there I gradually fell in love with the aviation world. Every day is different, the challenges are constantly evolving, and ultimately it’s a sector that suits people who aren’t looking for routine or quiet days.
What is Air Partner’s key strength?
Air Partner benefits from being part of an international group. With offices all over the world, we’re able to find the best solutions even in remote locations, thanks to the support of our amazing colleagues.
What’s your philosophy for delivering exceptional client service?
Staying calm and focused while finding the most effective solution in the shortest time is essential. At the same time, honesty, transparency, and clear communication is key - these principles guide everything we do.
Tell us about your first charter flight—or your most memorable one.
The most meaningful flight for me was the first charter I arranged for a national football team, heading to a small Swiss airport in St. Gallen (ACH). The short and narrow runway meant only smaller aircraft could land there, making planning more complex. The main challenge was selecting the right aircraft to avoid any risks during landing and takeoff. Coordination between the crew, ground staff, and local authorities was crucial to the success of the operation. It was a unique experience that demanded great attention to detail and flawless logistical planning.
