The city of Augusta also offers an array of things to do for both kids and adults, while in April, the area hosts a world-famous golfing contest.

Augusta Tournament: Held during the first full week of April, Augusta is the first major golf tournament of each year and one of the four major men’s professional golf championships. The competition takes place at Augusta National Golf Club, attractively set among fragrant pines, flowering dogwoods, and colourful azaleas.

Both the cultural and foodie scenes are flourishing, and the beach at Tybee Island is only 20 minutes by car from the city.

The gold dome of the State Capitol dominates the waterside, while the Capitol Market is a foodie hotspot and housed in an old freight station. Charleston offers a wealth of historic sites, cultural experiences, foodie delights, and fine museums. It’s also a very walkable city with a small-town feel and is surrounded by hills and mountains offering hiking, mountain biking, and skiing.
