Head of Business Applications & Data
"Air Partner has always been a safe environment for me where I could learn from every experience and felt supported at every step."
I grew up in South Africa and was an IT Manager and cricket coach at a prominent school, before making the move to the UK where I joined the Air Partner technology team. Technology has always been a passion of mine and I absolutely thrive on exploring innovation and problem solving. One of the things that attracted me to Air Partner was the sector – aviation is so exciting and often at the cutting edge of technology, so it seemed like the perfect fit for me.
My first role was 1st line IT Support Analyst working on the helpdesks. It was my job to man the phones and handle IT queries as they came in from around the business. I’d diagnose and help where I could, otherwise I’d send the queries on to the 2nd line support team. It was a role I really enjoyed as it continually pushed me to use my problem-solving skills.
Since joining Air Partner, I’ve been given so many opportunities to nurture and develop my skills through other roles, projects and ultimately managing teams of people. I’ve absolutely loved every minute of it, even the things that haven’t gone so well have been opportunities to learn. I’ve done a lot since 2019 and I’m pleased to have recently been promoted to Head of Business Applications and Data.
Now heading up a department, I oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of business application software to ensure it meets the needs of our business. It’s a hugely exciting role, especially with the ambitious growth plan we’re undertaking.
Suffice to say, I’ve come a long way in a short space of time and loved every new challenge.
Air Partner has always been a safe environment for me where I could learn from every experience and felt thoroughly supported at every step.
Being aviation services, the pace is fast, and you learn to juggle and prioritise very quickly, but it’s also hugely rewarding; the more you put in, the more you get back!
