Air Partner, a Wheels Up Company, successfully completed the time-critical transportation of a valve for an oil refinery, in an urgent request to prevent operations being halted.
The valve was transported from Roma Fiumicino to the Middle East. Weighing over 20 tones and well over 3 metres in height, transporting the oversized equipment required specialist planning from the Air Partner team to safely transport the valve. Antonov Airlines` AN-124-100 was used to carry the item, and an external ramp and crane for loading were required due to the size of the valve. The item had to be accommodated via an extra metal frame and super strong shackles for lashing.
Time was of the essence to ensure that the valve was delivered on time, any delays would have stopped the extraction operation and the Air Partner team worked around the clock to ensure it was delivered on time to the client. The team worked round the clock, closely with Gruber Logistics Italy and Alha Group on this time-critical mission.

Eugene Kiva, Commercial Executive at Antonov Airlines commented: "This particular unit required using our special loading equipment (ramp system) and external cranes, due to very sensitive lifting and lashing points.
The Shipper had to produce and weld some extra shackles on the bottom of the unit, for our technical team to be able to lash it properly inside our aircraft and withstand all the G-forces during the flight."
