Air Partner, the global aviation services group, has appointed Andrew Powers as Head of Business Development for the Cargo Division. Andrew will work closely with Air Partner’s global cargo team, leveraging his expertise to expand the group’s presence in the air cargo market, to deepen existing relationships with freight forwarders, and to create new business opportunities.
According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), air cargo volumes are estimated to be 11.7% higher than they were in 2019.[1] Andrew and the wider cargo team aim to utilise this forward momentum, growing business for Air Partner including the provision of onboard courier services, within the UK/ROI and Western European regions.
Andrew Powers said: “Air Partner is exceedingly strong within the aerospace market already but there’s still room for growth in a variety of additional areas. With a company like Air Partner, which has a portfolio of operators that covers the globe with a multitude of aircraft, the opportunities are huge.”
Andrew brings over 25 years of experience working in cargo and freight to his new role and most recently spent eight years as Sales Manager at AirBridgeCargo Airlines. As Head of Business Development, Andrew aims to grow existing accounts and expand Air Partner’s presence across the spectrum of the air freight market, including the aerospace, automotive, and humanitarian sectors.
Andrew will work closely with VP of Global Freight, Pierre Van Der Stichele, who said of the appointment:
“Andrew will be an excellent addition to our team. Bringing his own experience of cargo and the aerospace industry on board, we are confident that Air Partner will continue to be both active and successful in these sectors as he drives forward new business opportunities for the company.”
