The cancellation of two RMS voyages left a number of passengers stranded. The ship that travels between Cape Town and St Helena needed urgent repair work and time was of the essence as the cancellation of the ship meant there were no travel options between the two destinations.
Solution
St Helena is a notoriously difficult place to land aircraft, due to wind shear issues and the length of runway available. We worked around the clock to source a suitable aircraft - including obtaining the correct permits and ensuring the airport supplied the correct ground equipment. We successfully operated the return flight and became the first company to operate a full commercial aircraft charter in St Helena.
