Palm Springs International Airport (PSP), formerly known as Palm Springs Municipal Airport, is an airport two miles east of downtown Palm Springs, California. It is the main gateway to the beautiful Coachella Valley and Southern California's desert resorts. With two runways that cover over 940 acres, the airport has a long history that dates to 1939, when it was built as an emergency landing field for the United States Army Air Corps.
